Hawker Community Development Board

  • A volunteer committee that has responsibility for initiating change and developing a positive community ethos

  • Manages bookings for the CWA Rooms and Youth Centre.

 Meetings: Third Tuesday each month in old CWA Rooms

Hawker Art Exhibition Committee

  • This volunteer group focuses on presenting the annual Hawker Art Exhibition (since 1982)

  • The event is highly regarded by artists and visitors and is held for several weeks from the middle of September

  • Significant proceeds have helped rebuild the Hawker Institute and assist with lighting of the Hawker airstrip.

 Meetings: AGM end of March

Hawker Camera Club

  • Established in 1956 the club still meets regularly

  • Purpose is to share photographic knowledge and travel experiences

  • Visitors are most welcome

 Meetings: Fourth Monday each month in Hospital Community Room

  • Provides activities and outings for the Seniors in the District

  • Organises activities and events throughout the year

  • A group that enjoys bush walking on a monthly basis

Isolated Children's Parent's Association - Flinders Ranges Branch

  • The group seeks equity of access in education for children in rural and remote areas from early childhood to tertiary levels.

 Meetings: Four time a year

Hawker Quilters & Craft Group

  • An informal group which meets and works together

  • All welcome to chat, stitch or patch

  • Highlight for the group is its quilting display at the Annual Hawker art Exhibition

 Meetings: Monthly on a Friday 10am - 4pm in Hospital Community Room
