THE ARTIST![]() |
The son of a bee keeping family, Jeff spent his early years in Wirrabarra Forest in the mid north of South Australia, a haven which nurtured a lifelong interest in art and natural beauty. His working life has all been close to nature, working for the Woods and Forest Department, and as an orchardist. Jeff later took up house painting, working extensively in the station country of the Flinders Ranges and the North western Gawler ranges often accompanied by his family. His painting technique depicts the intricacies of feather and foliage, the striking Yacca (blackboy) often being the focal point of a painting, as he chooses to portray the natural flora, fauna and landscapes that he is so familiar with. |
